The convoy of Range Rovers descended in what's arguably Hawthorn's most prestigious street. Set in an impressive 100 seat marquee on prime real estate, was the biennale fundraiser for the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. Attracting several generations of Melbourne's elite, guests were welcomed by Ambassador Sarah Murdoch and treated to a scrumptious, four course, gourmet dinner. Entertained by musical performances from Christie Whelan and The Australian Children's Choir. Make no mistake, whilst a glamorous invite- only event, the fact was to raise much needed funds for the continued research into infant, child and adolescent health. Since it's inception by Dame Elisabeth in 1986, The Murdoch Children's is the largest child health research in Australia. With over 1500 researchers working around the clock alongside doctors and nurses on anything from genetic disorders to chronic illness, support is needed to understand the causes and manage the condition to improve quality of life.
