The city streets in Melbourne are abuzz. Well- dressed ladies and dapper looking gents huddle for cover as the clouds roll in and the drizzle picks up. Before I get a chance to fumble for the wipers they automatically come on and are timed to perfection. I’m getting around this Fashion Week in Mitsubishi’s ASX and surprised at the ease of driving an SUV. City traffic has me running late for a fitting, knowing exactly where I need to go I decide to test out the sat nav while stopped at the lights. It’s touch screen and doesn’t take long to enter the address. Before I know I’m redirected a shorter route which ends up being quicker and gets me in on time. I’m meeting Arthur Gallan’s mother who is making alterations to a Zimmermann catsuit I plan on wearing to a runway show later in the week. I can see her showroom from the glass skyroof in the car, I just need to park and it’s a tight squeeze. Click into reverse and the camera guides me into the tough spot with sensors alerting when close to the car that encroached my space. As quick as that, I’m parked, locked and mirrors are folded in. The heavens have opened up and a storm has struck whilst I was in my fitting, jogging back to the car dodging the rain the keyless entry is perfect as I throw my shopping into the roomy backseat and start up the car. Seat warmers and climate control kick in and Bluetooth automatically picks up my phone and starts a playlist. Mitsubishi, good luck getting this car back from me! Driving the ASX has evoked a desire for the car, the features, the style and the fuel efficiency. This car has the small car feel packed into an SUV perfect for city driving. Mitsubishi is renowned for reliability and quality giving you a whole lot of car for your money and the ASX definitely exceeds expectations. Check out the Mitsubishi ASX for yourself here. Love that car.
With your flights and hotel booked, the luggage is now the only thing left to organise. The battle of how many shoes to pack versus one, modest size suitcase can get your head in a spin. When travelling, regardless of where you're going, keep in mind the activities you'll be getting up to and the temperature/ climate. Travel light by packing perfect essentials you can use for multiple purposes. Lay out your clothes on your bed so you can visualise certain outfits and roll them for easy storage. Take into consideration comfortable walking shoes for long walks/ sight seeing.
When heading somewhere tropical this is my go-to:
- A day outfit, something perfect for lunch or shopping
- A great pair of sunglasses, something with metal detail to give it a luxe feel
- Outfit for pre dinner cocktails
- Something chic or breezy for the evening
- A great sunscreen and skin care products
- A scarf that can be worn on the plane for when it's cold and to dress up a casual outfit
- Accessories such as a belt, jewellery and heels that can easily transform a day outfit for night.
- Travel garment steamer (trust me you need one of these)
- Most importantly, stylish luggage that is renowned for it's quality and light weight, sturdy design. My favourite is Samsonite and well worth investing in.
The Cosmolite FL above is so light but durable, I have peace of mind my clothes and valuables will be well secured in the case. I can't say I trust any other brand when it comes to transporting my belongings. Check out the full range www.samsonite.com
Safe travels and enjoy your holiday.
